7kplay Maharashtra: 9 Killed, 25 Injured As Bus Overturns In Gondia
At least nine passengers were killed while 25 others were injured in a tragic road accident in Maharashtra's Gondia district when a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus overturned on the Kohmara State Highway on Friday.
Citing preliminary information, a senior police official told PTIthat the MSRTC bus 'Shiv Shahi' was carrying 36 passengers and heading to Gondia district from Bhandara when it flipped over at Davva village under Sadakarjuni taluka while trying to overtake another vehicle.

— ANI (@ANI) November 29, 2024According to the official, the accident occurred around 12:30 PM near Khajri village when the bus overturned. In view of the accident, the local authorities and emergency services were activated promptly.
Visuals have emerged from the site showing a huge crowd gathered around the vehicle. Several police vans, ambulances and cranes were deployed as well.
Taking cognisance of the development, caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed grief over the loss of lives in the accident and announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each to the next of the kin of the deceased.
According to PTI, Shinde spoke to the Gondia collector and instructed that all the injured passengers be provided proper treatment and medical care.
